Easter is quickly approaching and most of us struggle at the last minute to decide what to get our mothers, wives, and significant others. Often we settle on “big box” floral bouquets that will be wilted and\or dead in a couple of weeks.
If you are dead set on flowers, then why not give arrangements that contain perennial spring flowering plants. Plant containers with tulips, hyacinths, or daffodils can be dressed up with your child’s favorite Easter stickers to make a beautiful gift(s). And better yet, after flowering, the bulbs can be transplanted outside to offer spring flowering for years to come around walkways, patios, and driveways.
So if you find yourself pondering that expensive spring bouquet sitting so pretty at the local “big box” - think again about how special of a gift a flowering perennial can be.
